Trip to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam...

The trip started with the phone call from Bhooma at 4:30 AM, the call was made to confirm the starting time of the trip. Its time to get ready for the road trip to Sagar, called up the team to re-confirm their availability as planned.

Its 6:30 AM, i am ready for the trip waiting for the team to join, let me introduce you to the team, myself, Syed , Chevva, Bhooma, lax, chiru.  The first batch has arrived  Syed, Bhooma and Chevva triple riding the honda activa, now we are waiting for Lax and Chiru to join us and start the journey.. Meanwhile Chevva was making himself familiar with Rebel T3i our companion in the trip... here are couple of shots before starting the trip.

Along came Lax and Chiru ..,  My Chevy Sail started sailing at 7 am, King Kolusu riding his chariot behind the steering wheel, Lax took the side seat, while Bhooma, Syed ,Chiru and Chevva made themselves comfortable in the back seat. Took to the ORR, I pressed on gas and sped through ORR , the first stop was at Bongulur to re-fuel ourselves with breakfast.

We stopped at the road-side dhaba for breakfast. The hotel looked normal but aroma of food was amazing, with an open air kitchen and the cook making hot poori at that time. We loaded our tummies with yummy Pooris, masala dosas, idlys. The re-fueling session was followed by a small session of photography.

Back on the road again, we were expecting a four lane high way but road narrowed to two lane passing through different villages. Boys in the back seat started having conversation on wide variety of weird yet fun filled concepts by our Bhooma.. :) .

The road was becoming narrow and broader at times, we had scene load testing of the transport vehicles by the people, a Force Toofan which was supposed to be a 9 seater, is filled with 20+ ppl and guys standing onto the back of it and rushing around 110 kmph,  a 4 seater auto being filled by 15+ ppl , APSRTC buses, n Boss these packed vehicles scare you from opposite direction. One can't cross them, we can't pass by them, they will tease you as if they will come onto you, you have to slowdown and give them the way.

Our journey continued like mentioned above for another 100 kms and then we saw the first glimpse of reservoir, we parked the car and started to enjoy the view. The water body was huge, its green and calm, surrounded by hills.

After clicking few pics continued our journey for next 16 kms, the road became much narrow. The first stop was on the road bridge after the dam, the view was awesome but was scary from the top of the bridge. Most scary part was that the bridge was vibrating violently when a truck passed over it.

From here we started for the dam, but being restricted area we were not allowed to enter the power generation plant below the dam. Found a broken bridge between the dam and road bridge and wanted to explore the same.

From the broken bridge, we could have a excellent glimpse of  both the dam as well as the road bridge. We went onto the broken bridge and had a wonderful experience, the water was running violently below the bridge by hitting the boulders and making it a perfect place white water rafting. There were many more people there enjoying the beauty of the place.

From there we went ahead hto explore the waters using the indian raft (teppa in telugu ), at first we were not ready for the ride, because of the water and size of the raft, but we took courage and got onto it, the ride was awesome.

After the Sagar visit, we started for Ettipotala waterfalls which was around 16kms from the dam, the road was narrow and dangerous, we came across an accident sight of Ford Figo and Madindra Xylo colliding head on,  found no victims at the sight and moved on. The sight of Ettipotala was awesome, the waterefall was beautiful and I loved the view.

After satisfying our eyes with that scenic beauty of the falls and few pics to cherish the memories, the journey back to home started. Before that, was our lunch time, had  food at theAPTourism hotel.Took some time to relax n let the food settle in our stomachs.

At around 3:00 pm, we stopped by for some hot tea, also had Andhra goli soda which is not seen in city these days. The journey from there took around 2 hrs to reach home. After a safe and memorable trip to Nagarujana Sagar and  Ettipotala waterfalls, we reached  home at 5:30PM.

It was wonderful journey as they quote "The journey is more important than the destination "
